Missions & Teaching
Missionaries and Volunteers have the privilege to serve in any capacity they are comfortable with in spreading the gospel of Christ and providing assistance in tuition, training, and motivation in community-based programs that are focused on education, capacity building and social awareness.
MISSIONS
The duties of a missionary are to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community where he/she will serve. This includes the following;
- Go to schools during their worship days and share the word of God with the students
- Share the word of God with members of the community during the day
- Have the chance to also teach in a school during his / her leisure time in the day
- Attach you to a local church to assist the pastor in discharging his /her duties, whiles you learn from him/her and also share your experience.
- Lead bible studies groups and teach in Sunday schools
- Any other plan that you have for your local church where you will serve
- Educate the children, youth and the entire communities on HIV/AIDS.

- Bibles, bible dictionary, bible commentary
- Devotional guides, Christian literature
- Any other useful material
TEACHING
Provisions have been made for volunteers to choose from the list below, the age groups where s/he can offer beneficial service.
- Nursery and kindergarten 0 – 5 years
- Primary 6 – 12 years
- Junior high school 13 – 15 years
- Vocational and technical school 16 – 20 years
Nursery and kindergarten
The volunteer’s duties will include;
- Teaching songs, poems, rhymes, telling stories among others
- Teaching dance, play, sketch, games etc
- Help the children take their meals and help clean them up after meals
- Any other thing that you may want to teach the children
- Other duties that you may be assigned to do

- Story books, books on rhymes, poems, sketches etc

- Pens, pencils, erases, colour pencils, sharpeners, crayons etc
- Any other useful teaching aids
Primary and junior high school
The volunteer’s duties will include;
- Teaching mathematics and English language
- Give assignments, class test and mark them
- Provide HIV / AIDS education
- Cultural exchange. Telling the pupils about your country and some common cultures whiles they also share theirs with you
- Encouraging them and giving them hope for the future
- Other extra curriculum activities that you can engage your pupils in

- Pens, pencils, erases, colour pencils, sharpeners
- Any other useful teaching aids
Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills [ICCES]
This is a community vocational and technical training centre. In this training centre, trainees are given training in Masonry, Electrical, Cookery, Dressmaking and Tailoring.
Trainees undergo four [4] years of training to equip them to be self employed after training
The volunteer’s duties will include;
- Teaching Masonry, Electrical, Cookery, Dressmaking and Tailoring.
- Teach Mathematics, English Language or Entrepreneurship Skills
- Give assignments, class test and home work and mark them
- Provide HIV / AIDS education
- Cultural exchange. Telling the pupils about your country and some common cultures whiles they also share theirs with you
- Encouraging them and giving them hope for the future
