Location
Ghana is located on the coast of West Africa, and shares boundaries with Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east and to the west Cote D’ivoire. The Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) borders the south.
The country is divided into ten regions with the northern region being the largest and the greater Accra region the smallest which is at the coast also serves as the capital and seat of government

Climate
The climate in Ghana is basically tropical. It is usually hot and dry in the northern part of the country whiles it’s humid and hot in the southern part. Temperature ranges between 19 and 33’C
Population
It has a population of about 22million
Language
The official language of Ghana is English, although there are over 60 different ethnic languages. The most common ones being Twi, Ewe, Ga and Hausa.
Time zone
The time in Ghana is Greenwich Mean Time [GMT], with the Greenwich Meridian passing through the industrial city, Tema on the eastern border of the capital.
Currency
The currency for Ghana is the Ghana Cedi [GH¢].
$1.00 = GH¢1.45, €1.00 = GH¢1.90 and £1.00 = GH¢2.20

There are so many banks in Ghana where you can change your traveler’s cheques and foreign currencies. You can also use your VISA ATM cards to withdraw money from your account, just by informing your bankers of your intentions before your departure.
